The Costa Rica White Hawk Project's mission is to purchase forested lands in the Carate River Valley of Costa Rica, creating a crucial wildlife corridor where animals can roam freely and protected.

A percentage of every tour we give will be donated to the White Hawk Project.

Below is a list of our Full Day Tours, these tours are sure to please the entire family or the small group expeditioners. Included are some well known tours and some tours that take our clients off the beaten path. Regardless of which you choose, you are sure to enjoy a knowledgeable guide who will educate you to the area you select and the wildlife within. Corcovado and Terraba-Sierpe Mangrove Boat Tour

Your adventure will start with a 30km boat ride down the Sierpe river, going through the largest wet lands of Costa Rica. Corcovado National Park is considered the most biological dense places on earth, according to National Geographic. Be prepared to see very tall trees, spectacular buttresses, large woody lianas, abundant herbaceous vines and an incredible amount of wildlife. After your hike we’ll eat lunch in a gorgeous beach call San Josesito where you can swim or just relax… back to Sierpe river will take a close look of the mangroves trees to know all about their ecology and its inhabitants.

Typical Wildlife Viewed: Scarlet Macaws, Sloth, Monkeys, Snakes, Coatis, Anteaters, Agouti, Tiger Face Crabs, Herons, Toucans, Hawks, Poison Frogs, Trogons, Tapirs and if you are very very lucky Wild Cats!

Tour Duration: Full day, pick up time 6:00am (driving to Sierpe takes about two hours)

Difficulty Level: Moderate to Difficult, dependant on swell conditions

Tour Includes: Roundtrip transportation, park entrance fee, fully equipped boat, certified bilingual guide with natural history field guide, high definition optics, fresh fruit and drinks, lunch on the beach

What to Bring: Camera, towels, sun block, swimming suit, hiking shoes, sandals, light clothing

Cost per Person: $145.00 per person (minimum 4 person) or $115.00 per person if you have transportation

Crocodile River Tour & Scarlet Macaws

With one of the largest remaining wild populations of scarlet macaws, Carara national park is a unique place, known as a transitional zone where the humid-rain forest meets the tropical dry forest. The park landscape includes primary and secondary forest, gallery forest, a lagoon, and seasonal marshlands. Carara is also home to the Tarcoles River, with a estimated population of over 2000 American crocodiles.

Typical Wildlife Viewed: Scarlet Macaws, Trogons, Manakins, Herons, Egrets, Hawks, Wrens, Antbirds, Toucans, Kingfishers, American Crocodiles, Caimans, Iguanas, Basilisks Lizards, Agoutis, and more!

Tour Duration: Full day, pick up at 6:00am (driving to Carara takes about 1:45 minutes)

Difficulty Level: Easy

Tour Includes: Transportation, certified bilingual guide with natural history field guide, drinks on the boat, binoculars, and lunch or dinner

What to Bring: Hiking shoes, camera, sandals, light clothing

Cost per Person: $95.00 per person without transportation, $135.00 per person with transportation

Boruca Indigenous Reserve Tour

This indigenous reserve is situated in a green valley in southwestern Costa Rica. To reach the village we will drive through great scenic views across mountains, valleys and rivers. The Boruca natives are known for their carvings that include decorated gourds (jicaras) and colorful balsa wood masks. The women use back-strap looms, a pre-Columbian tradition, to weave cotton clothing, purses, tablecloths, and belts. The Borucas are the only native group that fabricates textiles with traditional techniques and materials. Buying art and souvenirs directly from the artist is a good way to help and support their culture.

Whale Watching at Marino Ballena National Park & Poza Verde Waterfalls

This national park is one hour south of Manuel Antonio and covers an extension of 110 land hectares and 5,375 sea hectares, and was officially established as a marine national park in 1989. Humpback whales migrate to the warm tropical waters of Costa Rica. This is a unique opportunity to capture these magnificent creatures migrating through one of earth’s most unique ecosystems. Manuel’s Tours captains will navigate per all regulations and restrictions that the national parks and coast guards require.

Typical Wildlife Viewed: Humpback Whales, Sea Turtles, Dolphins, Pelicans, Frigate Birds, Brown Boobies, Green Iguanas, White Ibis; a great time on the water!

Tour Duration: Full Day (Pick up at 7am)

Difficulty Level: Easy

Tour Includes: Roundtrip transportation, park entrance fee, fully equipped boat, binoculars, bilingual certified guide with natural history field guide, beverages and fresh fruit, and a typical lunch after tour

What to Bring: Sunblock, camera, sun glasses, bathing suit, towel, beach clothing and sandals
